The altar boys main role is to assist the Clergy during the Divine Liturgy. Altar Boys serve every Sunday as well as Holy Week, Easter and major holy days/feast days.
Being an altar boy in the Orthodox Church is a privilege and provides a young boy with the opportunity to actively participate in the Divine Liturgy and gain a greater understanding of the Orthodox service.
